Malta belongs to the maltese island. The archipelago consists of three islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino. Malta is the largest island. It is the cultural, commercial and administrative centre. Gozo is the second largest island and is more rural, characterised by fishing, tourism, crafts and agriculture while Comino is largely uninhabited. And Malta has very pleasant climatic conditions…It’s 15° at the moment…

- Buses
The public bus service on Malta and Gozo is a good way to get around as buses serve the major tourist areas, go practically everywhere and are cheap and efficient. The cost of a bus route ranges from €0.35 to €0.58 and the longest bus journey takes about fifty minutes; the average ride is between twenty and thirty minutes.
- Ferries
A regular ferry service links Malta to Gozo, taking about 20 minutes each way. A sea plane service links Grand Harbour in Valletta to Mgarr Harbour in Gozo. There are also regular boat services between each island and Comino.
- Water Taxis in Grand Harbour
A & S Water Taxis provides cruises in and around the Grand Harbour, as well as crossings between Valletta and the historic towns of Senglea and Vittoriosa using the traditional Maltese boat known as ‘dghajsa'.

What to see and do?
The Maltese Islands have three sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. These are the City of Valletta, the Megalithic Temples and the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum.
You can easily spend 2 weeks in Malta, because there are many things to visit and to do… The public transport are very developped so even if you don’t want to rent a car, you can go where you want in a really few time.
This destination will enjoy you, because of the wealth of its history and architecture.
I’ve just mentioned some places to visit, but many others exist…

La Valette
Valletta is the capital of Malta. It is inextricably linked to the history of the military and charitable Order of St John of Jerusalem. It was ruled successively by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and the Order of the Knights of St John.
Valetta has 320 monuments to visit!

Fortifications and towers
Malta is known as the Fortress Island for its great mass of defensive architecture.
You can also go to Camino to see the Camino’s tower witch is one of the oldest towers.
Malta’s east :
The Hypogeum consists of halls, chambers and passages hewn out of the living rock and covering some 500 square metres. The rock-cut chambers are of diverse shapes and sizes, finished to different standards of workmanship. The complex is grouped in three levels – the upper level (3600-3300 BC), the middle level (3300-3000 BC) and the lower level (3150 -2500 BC). The deepest room in the lower level is 10.6 metres under road surface.
To ensure its conservation, the site’s microclimate is strictly regulated. For this reason, the site is open to a maximum of 80 visitors each day. From Monday to Sunday seven tours will be conducted, starting on the hour from 9.00 till 16.00 (last tour).

Food…
Look out for Lampuki Pie (fish pie), Rabbit Stew, Bragioli (beef olives), Kapunata, (Maltese version of ratatouille), and widow’s soup, which includes a small round of Gbejniet (sheep or goat’s cheese). The snacks that must be tried are ‘hobz biz-zejt’ (round of bread dipped in olive oil, rubbed with ripe tomatoes and filled with a mix of tuna, onion, garlic, tomatoes and capers) and pastizzi (flaky pastry parcel filled with ricotta or mushy peas).
You also can try some deserts, notably Kannoli.
Many wines are famous, but you don’t like alcool so…
I’m sure you will not spend your 6000 euros in Malta!
